Where did we get the name for our school?

Who Is St Thomas?

The school is named after one of Jesus' friends, Thomas.

St Thomas is often attributed to being a 'doubter'. But there is so much more to Thomas.

He was curious and willing to ask questions and wanted to know more. 

He was a close friend of Jesus and one of the twelve apostles. Thomas was the first to acknowledge that Jesus was both human and divine. 

He is famous for exclaiming, "My Lord and my God!" You will see this staement all around our school.

Thomas is the patron saint of builders, architects and India - we associate Thomas with building faith communities. 

Lots of paintings over history have depicted Thomas as touching the wounds of Jesus when he returned to see his friends.
