In a few weeks, I'll be hosting a FREE webinar to help teachers and leaders in Years 5-6 restructure literacy blocks and teachers in Years 7-9 restructure their English lessons to be more explicit, intentional and practical.

Here’s how you know if this is the right webinar for you and your school:

 

  • If your teachers are still relying on rotations, this is for you.
  • If your Years 5–6 teachers’ literacy practices aren't aligned with what's happening in P–2 and Years 3–4, this is for you.
  • If your teachers are doing most of the reading and talking in their Years 7–9 English lessons, this is for you.
  • If your students don’t have enough opportunities to practise reading fluently in Years 7–9, this is for you.
  • If your teachers are good at their literature craft in Years 7-9 (which they probably are) and know the texts inside out but not literacy and language features, this is for you.
  • If your teachers are struggling with novel study units or literature analysis, this is for you.
  • If your 7-9 teachers are focusing only on analytical verbs and command terms during English, this is for you.
  • If your teachers are confident teaching literacy in Years 5–6 but struggle to bring in rich literature this is for you.
