Spring is in the air, and the College farm is certainly responding. Across our livestock enterprises, animals are thriving as we head into one of the year's busiest times. Around the College, a real sense of energy and enthusiasm is evident as students continue to immerse themselves in learning. From the paddock to the yards, students are building skills and industry knowledge while contributing to the farm's day-to-day operations.

This week, students have enjoyed a range of opportunities, from mandarin picking to attending Dairy Discovery. It is always rewarding to see students connect their classroom learning with real-life practices and develop a deeper understanding of opportunities within the agricultural industry.

I also had the pleasure of attending the hockey and netball grand finals this week, and what fantastic games. Congratulations to our netballers on their well-deserved victory, and to our Harvey Ag hockey team, who fought hard in a closely contested match and narrowly lost 1-0. We were also delighted to see another Harvey Ag student playing on the winning hockey side. Congratulations to all; you represented the College with pride and should be proud of your efforts.

This week, we also recognised Education Assistant Appreciation Week. I would like to give a special shout-out to Nicole Lawrence, who is an absolute gem. Nicole's care, commitment, and dedication to supporting our students make a positive difference every day. We are incredibly fortunate to have her on the Harvey Ag team.

Absences

Like many communities right now, we continue to have a number of students and staff affected by seasonal illnesses. As a reminder, if your child is absent from school, please notify the College by email and provide the reason for their absence.

We are also seeing more students attending interviews, training programs, and employment-related opportunities. These are exciting steps towards future careers; however, we encourage students to communicate with their teachers about any upcoming assessments or coursework that may be impacted by their absence. By planning ahead and staying in touch, students can stay on track with their studies while taking advantage of these opportunities.

College Employment Opportunities

We currently have several positions advertised at Harvey Ag. If you know someone who would be a great addition to our College community, please encourage them to visit our Facebook page or Jobs WA to learn more.

Happy Father's Day

To all the dads, grandads, stepdads, and father figures, thank you for the guidance, support, and practical advice you provide to our young people. We hope you have a wonderful Father's Day and are spoilt appropriately.
