Senior Summer Sport

Senior Girls Volleyball

Our Senior girls have been training and ready to display their skills and teamwork against quality opposition.  Our first game took us a while to get warmed up and after giving Noble Park the first set Lyndale took the second set and eventually draw at full time based on points.

The next two games our team switched up a gear and completely dominated Mt Hira and Sirius College only dropping one set and winning both games comfortably with some rallies that lasted over 20 hits and spikes that were at a professional level.

The first final was against Keysborough who had not dropped a set for the entire day.  This game was a nail biter and more exciting than the grand final with Lyndale nudging ahead in the second set to eventually go down 20-18 in the second set with Keysborough going on to win the title against Noble Park.

Our final game against Dandenong for third place saw Lyndale easily control the game and enjoy the game with a two-set victory.  A special thanks goes out to captain Nargis for marshalling the team, Isabella for keeping the energy levels very, very high for the entire day and when the team needed it most. Noreen, Azariah, Fatima, Nasitija and Zohra for their consistent efforts in serving and returning the ball and Caroline, Hadil and Haania for the incredible offensive set plays and defensive blocks! – Mr Shane

Well done and a big thank you to Mr Shane for training and taking the team out for sport.

We had a tough opener against Keysborough Acacia but then on the boys improved. The next game against Noble Park we were more patient and took the win which was fantastic to see.  From that point on we were very competitive in all games but unfortunately did not take them out. A great day of learning!  The boy’s behaviour on the day was fantastic and represented Lyndale with distinction. Well done- Mr PK

Congratulations to our Intermediate and Senior Tennis teams for their efforts in recent competition.

The Intermediate team fought extremely hard throughout the day and won multiple games. They narrowly missed first place, finishing second overall alongside Keysborough Banksia. It was a strong performance and a great display of teamwork and determination.

The Senior team finished third overall. Despite the result, all students competed with great effort and demonstrated our school values of respect and resilience throughout the day.

A special mention to Jane Chen, who stepped up to play against the boys as a girls’ team could not be formed. Her serves could put John Isner's to shame. Jane represented the school with confidence and courage.

The final round robin game was another tough one against Keysborough Banksia who were one of the better teams all tournament. Swimming Carnival's

On the 11th February we had our year 7’s swimming carnival at Oakleigh Rec Pool, in case you missed out on how it was went here are a few highlights of the day’s events. We had just under 150 year 7 students attending our sports carnival this year.

For our main swimming events- freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly there were a total of 6 girls who competed in these events and 21 boys who gave it a good solid go!! Every event was filled with a great effort from our new year 7’s!

This year we had different novelty events where you could participate in. Novelty events are fun water competitions that take place at the shallow end of the pool and are great ways to include any students who prefer to stay at the shallow end of the pool but want to also be a part of some swimming competitions. These events included the inflatable donut relay, treading water competition, and the teacher’s vs students noodle relay!

It was a lot of FUN!! At the end of the competition, we opened up some additional swimming lanes and had a solid 40min free swim time in the 50m pool.

Such a great way to finish up the carnival day however, there were still the overall house winners of the day.

The House winner overall was Halton!!!!

Thank you to all that attended and participated in our swimming carnival.
