Principals Report

Dear Parents, Caregivers and friends,

While Mrs Carr is taking a well-deserved one-week break, I am pleased to write this week's newsletter piece. We have had so many wonderful events across the school to celebrate recently.

Magical Art Show

What an extravaganza! The Art Show showcased our incredibly talented artistic students and provided a fantastic opportunity to share their work with the wider community. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Meagan Greenland for her tireless work in putting together such a vibrant event. Meagan managed to secure many wonderful raffle prizes, and the collaborative art pieces' silent auction exceeded all expectations. Thank you also to Trevor Gilbert and Matthew Caller for giving their time to cook the sausage sizzle, and to TheirCare for so generously supplying the sausages and bread. How will Meagan top this in 2028?

Padua Academic Challenge

We also had a group of senior students take part in the annual Padua Academic Challenge, competing against other local schools. Our students certainly represented St Brendan's with enthusiasm and displayed outstanding teamwork throughout the day. The group took out first place in Science and ranked very highly across many other curriculum areas. Congratulations to all involved.

Welcome Foundation 2027 Parents

Last week, we welcomed our new Foundation 2027 parents at the Foundation Information Evening. It was lovely to see familiar faces from our current St Brendan's families alongside so many new faces who will soon become part of our wonderful community. We loved sharing a glimpse of the exciting learning journey ahead and can't wait to welcome our newest little learners and their families to St Brendan's.

Creation Prayer Service

I would also like to acknowledge the beautiful Creation Prayer Service prepared by the Year 1/2 team. The students read and sang so beautifully. The video reflection highlighted each student's personal connection to how we can all care for Creation within our school community.

Junior Parish Sports Day

The Junior Parish Sports Day was certainly a hot one. The students' enthusiasm reached a boiling point, right along with the weather. Our Foundation and Year 1/2 students dug deep and tapped into their resilience to participate in all the fun sporting activities. Thank you to all the staff and to Mr Porter for making the day so enjoyable.

Mini Vinnies Christmas Hamper Appeal

Thank you to the families who have already so generously donated to the Mini Vinnies Christmas Hamper Appeal. We are accepting donations until November 18th, after which our Mini Vinnies team will be busy helping to pack hampers for families in need within our local community.

A Prayer for Creation

Dear God,

Thank you for the wonderful world you have given us.  For the sun that warms us, the plants that grow, and all living things.

Help us to be caring guardians of your creation, treating our earth and each other with kindness, respect, and love.

Guide our hearts and hands every day to protect the beauty around us.

                                                                                      Amen.

Have a love week,

Bernie Turner
