Playgroup News

Our winter weather has certainly brought plenty of rain lately, making it a little harder to get outside and enjoy the local playgrounds. Thankfully, one of our lovely playgroup parents has shared some fantastic suggestions for free indoor play areas that are perfect for keeping the kids busy on those wet-weather days. We hope you enjoy exploring some of them!
This fortnight at playgroup, we were delighted to welcome three new families. It has been wonderful to see everyone settling in and exploring all the toys and activities we have to offer. One of the children created the most amazing train track, with so much thought and creativity put into its design. It was lovely to watch their imagination come to life, and to see the pride they had in what they had built.
Free Indoor Play Areas
- IKEA Homemaker Centre – Three different play areas to explore.
- Westfield Knox – A fantastic outdoor playground, along with a smaller indoor play area.
- Eastland – Climbing rocks, climbing nets and a playground to enjoy.
- McDonald's and Hungry Jack's playgrounds – A great option for a quick play. The McDonald's in Ferntree Gully (Burwood Highway) is especially worth a visit, with its huge playground featuring a rocket ship, plenty of slides and lots of climbing opportunities.
Stud Park – A soft play area that's perfect for younger children.
If you have discovered any other great free play spaces, family-friendly outings or fun activities, we'd love for you to share them with the playgroup community in a future newsletter!
