Prep 1/2

We have had a busy few weeks in our class getting to know each other!

The children have shown me how aware they are of the school values: respect, resilience and responsibility.

We have been reading ‘Possum Magic’ and ‘The Three little Wolves and the Big, Bad Pig’ in our English lessons. We have been discussing morals in a story and how characters can change for the better. Some of our new vocabulary words are fragile, transformation, tender and empathy. In our writing we have been using adjectives to describe nouns which has made our sentences more interesting to read!

In Maths we have revised our knowledge of place value and then used this knowledge to help us with our addition and subtraction of two- and three-digit numbers.

Children in our Nurture group had a fantastic time at the teddy bears picnic on Tuesday and they loved sharing their special teddies with the class and telling us all about the yummy food they had eaten at the picnic!

It was lovely to meet some parents and grandparents on Wednesday at the afternoon tea event, and the children thoroughly enjoyed this special afternoon.

We can’t wait for the new playground to open! How exciting that is going to be!!
