EMC Alumni
CONNECTING OUR PAST WITH OUR PRESENT FOR OUR FUTURE.
Our EMC Alumni community shares their journey, knowledge and skills with current students, and in doing so helping our current students to build their dreams for the future by creating aspiration and understanding of varied career paths and the changing nature of the workforce.
Many of our graduates have progressed and established an outstanding reputation for our College in a diverse set of careers, and that networking will only further enhance future career outcomes for all Alumni.
Elisabeth Murdoch College will be recognising regular gatherings of the Alumni at specific EMC Alumni events such as 1, 10, 20 and 30 year reunions as paramount to building a culture of connectedness and purpose.
The EMC Alumni engage with our careers program, mentoring based activities for student pursuing careers in specialized fields, offering sponsorship arrangements for high potential students from disadvantaged backgrounds, creating work placement opportunities and a ‘day in the life’ of a career. Assisting our students to understand and engage with life after school and outside of Langwarrin.

The Kim Kelsall Scholarship is designed to support young students fulfill their goals through financial support they may not otherwise have access to.
Tim Harper – Colleague
An outstanding leader, Kim contributed to the growth and development of our college during her tenure that went well above and beyond that expected – she truly loved the school and community. Kim’s commitment was unmatched as she nurtured the development of staff and the young people of Langwarrin. A reflection of Kim’s contribution upon stepping down as Assistant Principal was recognised in the naming of the College Resource Centre in her honour. Those of us who worked with, and learned from Kim, will have many stories to tell about her intelligence, vision, and common sense.
Kim was loved and respected by students who routinely described her as a caring, generous, and fair teacher. She would advocate for the student who lacked this support, often in the face of opposition from others. In a world where people often complain about the busy-ness of life, Kim always had time to listen to and support any young person (and staff member) within the college community.
Kim approached me after her retirement to discuss the possibility of her leaving a sum of money to be used to provide for identified students. Sadly she passed before we could enact her wishes, BUT we can do something about that now.
Kim's thinking was to provide support to students in their senior years of study through perhaps the our purchase of a laptop or provision of some other financial support. her stipulation was the scholarship was to be used to support students in need rather than simply pick the 'best' students.

OurSchool Program
An introduction to Elisabeth Murdoch College Alumni (former students) program.
Elisabeth Murdoch College Alumni now has a program to build and mobilise the school’s alumni community, with the help of OurSchool.
OurSchool is a not-for profit service that helps public high schools build a thriving alumni network to benefit current students and the school community.
Alumni programs in private schools and universities are well established and provide huge benefits to students. Our alumni program will help us grow our alumni community to benefit our students.
The alumni program will focus on doing these key things:
· Find and connect with alumni
· Invite alumni back to school to inspire students about study and career pathways
· Create opportunities for students via alumni providing work experience placements
· Invite alumni to provide philanthropic support for students and our school by contributing to school fund-raising projects, student scholarships or gifts in wills (longer term goals)
If you’re reading this and you’re a former student of Elisabeth Murdoch College, Langwarrin Secondary College or Langwarrin Post Primary School, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with us by sending an email to: alumni@emc.vic.edu.au.
