Around the College

Year 9 Camp
This year’s Year 9 Camp was all about resilience, and our students certainly rose to the challenge! Through overnight hikes, bike riding, and canoeing, they worked together as a team, persevering and strengthening their resilience throughout the experience.
Year 7 Art Fun!
The year 7 art classes have been super busy and creative throughout the semester.
Some projects include abstract art painting, exploring composition and colour theory, wire sculpture, exploring the elements of space and line, and printmaking with mixed media techniques and materials. They are beginning to develop art folios that assist them in recording and evaluating the design process. They have also engaged in classroom discussions and tasks that highlight the importance of Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property rights for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creators and story owners.
Well done, everyone, and keep the exploration coming! - Ms. Lomagno and Mr. Cochrane, Teacher

David Panther Organises Donation to Rotary DIK
David Panther has been busy working with Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College to facilitate the donation to the Rotary Donations in Kind (DI warehouse in Footscray this past month of Mary MacKillop’s discontinued sports uniform items and excess school tights. DIK was most appreciative of this donation by the school. The surplus uniforms will be distributed to over 80 countries. While he was at DIK, David saw medical equipment, kids’ toys, and building materials being delivered on the same day. We should and do commend David for his initiative in giving these discontinued uniform items a second life.
