Year 11 and Year 10 Exams: June 13–19
Year 10 and Year 11 students will be undertaking their mid-year exams from Friday, June 13 to Thursday, June 19. These exams play an important role in assessing student understanding, reinforcing learning, and developing essential exam preparation and time management skills that are critical for success in senior secondary studies. Thanks to Mrs Dianna Malloy for her exceptional coordination of the exam process, and to all staff members who have supported the preparation and supervision of these assessments.
Year 10 Work Experience:
Year 10 students recently participated in the work experience program, providing them with a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the world of work. This experience helps students build workplace skills, explore potential career interests, and understand employer expectations. It also supports informed decision-making regarding future pathways and subject selections. We acknowledge the Kate Dwyer and the careers team for their work in organising and supporting this important initiative.
General Achievement Test (GAT): June 17
The General Achievement Test (GAT) will be conducted statewide on Monday, June 17. The GAT is a key component of the VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) and is used to ensure fairness and consistency in the assessment of student performance. It plays an important role in quality assurance for school-based and external assessments and may also be used in calculating final study scores in certain circumstances. All students enrolled in one or more VCE or scored VCE VET Unit 3–4 subjects are required to sit the GAT. Thank you again to Dianna Malloy for her organisation of this day, supported by Adrienne Layton and other staff members.
Year 9 Morrisby Profiling:Year 9 students are currently completing Morrisby Profiling, a comprehensive career diagnostic tool that provides personalised insights into students’ aptitudes, interests, and learning styles. The results support students, families, and career advisors in making informed decisions about future subject selections and career planning. This profiling helps to build early awareness and alignment between students’ strengths and potential career pathways. It is hoped that this will continue for all year 9 students moving forward, to provide early planning and intervention for career choices. Thank you again to Kate Dwyer and the careers team for their establishment of Morrisby at MMCRC.
