Before & After School Care

School Holiday Program - Autumn 2026
Week 8 - A Fun Challenge Week
Hi all and welcome to our TheirCare weekly recap. This week has been a challenge week, children were able to explore colours, textures and participate in many meaningful experiences like clay challenge, sensory play and taste challenge games. It was great to see children from different age grades work together as a team to create different sculptures.
We also continued with our Clean up our yard day as children showed empathy and gratefulness in making our school better place for everyone. This week we also practiced Fire Drill, and we spoke about the importance of doing those drills regularly. Children also explored gym space as we played Tag games, hide and seek games and red light green light games.
Group play is not just a source of fun for young children; it is an essential component of their developmental journey. Through interactions with peers, children gain critical skills that serve them well into their adult lives, including social skills, emotional regulation, and cognitive abilities. This article delves into the myriad benefits of group play, providing insights for parents, educators, and policymakers to harness its full potential.
Week 7 - An Awesome Week at OSHC
Hi all and welcome to our TheirCare weekly recap. This week I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to Natalie P who has being an amazing assisting our service while I was away. Nat, thank you so very much and it has been relief leaving our children with you as their all know you and are comfortable around. This week children were exploring our gym space and highlights was run for fun competition where children were getting timed on how fast they could run all around the gym space, tag and music and movements. Indoors children were able to work on iron beads creations, science experiences and making slime and many broad games.
Week 6 - Clean Up Australia Day
Good Day everyone and welcome to our weekly TheirCare recap. This week our children from Lalor East PS TheirCare were able to extend their knowledge regarding fun facts about animals, together we researched and learned about polar bears, black panthers and tigers. It was interesting to see children share their understanding with their peers during our group discussions, we also continued to work on our School Values and during our discussion's children were able to talk about the meaning behind Respect, Kindness and Responsibility. We celebrated Maya and Hannah birthday this week.
Lalor East TheirCare also this week took a part of Clean up Australia Day, we signed our service to be part of this massive community event and together with our children we have being going around the school yard to clean up the yard. When children are involved in meaningful environmental activities, they begin to connect the dots between their actions and the world around them. They learn the importance of working together as a community to make a positive difference and gain a greater understanding of the impact of pollution on local environments.
Reminders:
Lalor East TheirCare also follows Sun Smart and as of 1 September, we encourage children when going outside to place suncream and sunhats.
