LEPS Sports Report – Rounds 3 & 4

Lalor East Primary School  had an exciting couple of weeks of interschool sport, taking on St Catherines in Round 3 and Lalor North in Round 4. Our teams showed great teamwork, effort, and sportsmanship across all matches.


Round 3 – Lalor Last Primary school  vs St Catherines (at St Catherines)

Round 3 was a competitive day with several close games. In cricket, LEPS fought hard but fell just short, scoring 23 runs to St Catherines’ 32.

 

The girls rounders team also played a tight match, narrowly losing 6–5 after a strong performance. The boys rounders team had a great game and came away with a win, defeating St Catherines 6–3.

 

Our Hot Shots teams had excellent results. The girls team dominated their match, winning convincingly 27–10. The boys also performed well, securing a solid 23–13 victory.

Overall, it was a great round with strong performances and some fantastic wins for LEPS.


Round 4 – LEPS vs Lalor North (at Lalor North)

Round 4 saw LEPS travel to Lalor North for another challenging day of sport. The cricket match was very close, with Lalor North finishing on 52 runs to LEPS’ 46 in a hard-fought game.

 

In girls rounders, Lalor North came away with the win 15–8 despite a determined effort from the LEPS team. The boys rounders team also faced a tough match, losing 13–2.

 

The Hot Shots teams had an outstanding day. The girls team won a close contest 20-23, while the boys team gave it their all but was defeated 35-14

 

LEPS students should be proud of their effort and teamwork across both rounds. Well done to all players who represented the school so positively. We look forward to more exciting matches in the coming rounds!


Round 5 Match Report – Lalor East vs Lalor Gardens 1 (at Lalor Gardens)

Lalor East travelled away to face Lalor Gardens 1 in an exciting and closely contested Round 5, with several nail-biting finishes across the day.

 

The Rounders Girls got things underway with a hard-fought match, finishing in a 7–7 draw with only having 5 players. It was an evenly matched contest, with both teams showing strong fielding and consistent batting.

 

The Rounders Boys followed with a thrilling performance, edging out Lalor Gardens 1 in a 5–4 victory. Their teamwork and composure under pressure proved the difference in a very tight game.

 

In Hotshots Boys, Lalor East held on in a tense finish to win 22–21, showcasing excellent shot-making and determination.

 

The Hotshots Girls faced a tough opponent and, despite their best efforts, went down 17–27. The team showed resilience and continued to compete strongly throughout the match.

 

The day concluded with an absolute thriller in Cricket, where Lalor East secured a dramatic 51–50 win. It was a fantastic team effort, with contributions across batting and fielding sealing a one-run victory.

 

Overall, it was a strong showing from Lalor East, remaining competitive across all matches and coming away with multiple wins and a draw in a great display of sportsmanship and effort!
