Mr Gareth Kolkenbeck-Ruh - Head of Students (Acting)
At Marist College Ashgrove, our uniform is far more than simply a set of clothing worn to school each day. It is a visible sign of belonging to our community and a reflection of the values we seek to uphold as a Catholic and Marist school. When our students wear their uniform well, they represent not only themselves but also their families and the wider College community.
As we move towards the end of the term, we are asking all students to refocus on maintaining our expectations regarding the correct wearing of the College uniform. This includes ensuring that socks are worn pulled up appropriately, shirts are tucked in, belts with standard buckles are worn, and formal hats are kept in good condition and worn when required. These expectations are not new; rather, they are part of the standards that contribute to the sense of pride and identity that has long been associated with Marist College Ashgrove.
Students regularly represent the College both within the school grounds and out in the broader community—travelling to and from school, participating in co-curricular activities, and attending various events. At these times, the uniform becomes a visible expression of the standards and values of our College. Wearing the uniform correctly demonstrates respect for the community to which they belong and contributes to the strong reputation that the College enjoys.
We ask for the continued support of parents and carers in reinforcing these expectations at home. Ensuring that students leave for school each day with the correct uniform items and wearing them appropriately makes a significant difference. When families and the College work together, students are more likely to develop habits of pride, responsibility and respect.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership in supporting the standards and values that underpin life at Marist College Ashgrove. Together, we can continue to ensure that our students present themselves in a way that reflects the pride we all share in our College community.
