Beanstack in the PCL

Term 3 in the library we had three Year 7 classes using a new reading platform called Beanstack. Beanstack allows students to log all their reading via an app or on their laptop. Students set their own reading goals and recorded their minutes read via Beanstack.

We had a graphic novel challenge and a Children’s Book Council of Australia notable books challenge. Congratulations to all students who achieved their reading goals.

The biggest readers in the graphic novel challenge were: 

• Nicole Markosa from 7 Indigo who read 393 minutes

• Aidan Sujith from 7 Mauve who read 363 minutes

• Edie Karamitsos from 7 Emerald who read 332 minutes

The biggest readers of the CBCA notable book challenge were:

• Aidan Sujith from 7 Mauve who read 1135 minutes

• Rose McDonald from 7 Mauve who read 854 minutes

• Panagiotis Vlahoulis who read 504 minutes

7 Emerald, 7 Mauve and 7 Indigo combined have read 41,150 minutes. This will only increase with 7 Gold and 7 Yellow beginning to also log their reading. Congratulations to everyone and keep reading!
