Library 2026

Welcome back to the library! We’re full to the brim with great books the students are looking forward to bringing home to read and share with you.
Book Club:
The first issue of Book Club was sent home with children last week. Book club is optional, online ordering is easiest/preferable and orders are delivered to school and distributed to students. If you purchase books as a surprise or gift, please inform me so I can let you know when your order has arrived, rather than sending it home with your child.
Please remind your child to bring a named cloth bag to school. Students will only be able to borrow if they have a bag. Library bags identify the borrower and help keep our books clean, dry and protected as they travel to and from school.
Borrowing will begin as soon as classes can commence in the library. 1/2KD are currently using the library as their classroom, while they await access to their room. The building works are well underway, so the move is expected to occur within the next few weeks.
Borrowing Guidelines:
- Prep students - 2 picture or non-fiction books
- Yr 1/2 students - 2 picture, non-fiction or short chapter books
- Yr 3/4 students - up to 3 books of choice
- Yr 5/6 students - up to 3 books of choice
Books are exchanged weekly/fortnightly. Lengthy books may be kept for a longer period of time.
As we purchase more books throughout the year, we would love some volunteers to help with book covering. Assistance with this means more new titles on the shelf more often. Contact will be supplied and this can be done at home. Please pop into the library on a Wednesday/Thursday or email me if you are able to assist.
Please enjoy sharing books with your child/ren, whether it’s reading to/with them or simply having a chat about what they’re reading. Encourage your child to read for enjoyment and remind them that the more they read, the more they’ll know and the more their reading confidence and competency will grow.
Let’s work together to foster a love and joy of reading.
Many thanks,
Vicki Dagher
