Assistant Principal

Following on from my previous article, and in response to parent requests, I have created a short presentation to provide further information about the Zones of Regulation and how we use this approach at school.
The Zones of Regulation is a framework we use to support students in recognising and managing their emotions, behaviours and levels of alertness. Throughout the school day, students are explicitly taught to identify which “zone” they are in and are supported with strategies to help them regulate and return to a state where they are ready for learning.
The presentation outlines how this looks in the classroom, including the language we use, the tools we introduce, and the consistent routines that help students build these important skills over time. Importantly, it also includes practical ideas for how families can use the Zones of Regulation at home to support a shared and consistent approach.
The presentation is attached to this article, and I encourage all families to take some time to explore it.
