NAIDOC WEEK

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week celebrates and honours the rich histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. This year marks a significant milestone of 50 years of elevating Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander voices and cultures with the theme ‘50 Years of Deadly’.

While NAIDOC Week officially runs from 5 to 12 July, Peakhurst PS is celebrating during Week 11 of Term 2.

At Peakhurst PS we acknowledge the Bediagal People, the traditional custodians of this land which our school stands. We pay respect to the Elders past, present and emerging of the Dharug and Eora Nations for they hold the memories, traditions and hopes of Aboriginal Australia and extend that respect to all Aboriginal people present. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
