STEM/Japanese
What’s going on in STEM/Japanese?
Year 4/5 students have been working hard in STEM and Japanese this term as part of our housing unit. After learning about traditional and modern Japanese homes, students designed and built their own paper houses using the STEM design process to plan, create and improve their ideas. They then used technology to produce a short video clip, where they described their homes in Japanese.
Deakins GALS
Deakin’s GALS (Girls as Leaders in STEM) program is well underway, with students having completed two workshops so far this term - one held in person at Deakin University Waurn Ponds and the other delivered online from school. This year, three innovative groups are working through the STEM design process, researching, designing and refining their ideas as they develop their projects. Students are preparing to present their creations to families and teachers at Deakin at the end of the term. Watch this space for future updates on the GALS progress!
