Leadership Update
Acting Principal - Jarod Bacon
Assistant Principal - Mick Georgiadis
As we move further into the term, I would like to take the opportunity to highlight the importance of strong communication between home and school. If you have any questions, concerns, or information that may support your child’s learning and wellbeing, I encourage you to communicate directly with your child’s classroom teacher. Working together in partnership helps us provide the best possible support for every student.
I would also like to acknowledge and celebrate the incredible work of our teachers and education support staff. Every day, they demonstrate dedication, care, professionalism, and a commitment to ensuring all students feel supported, challenged, and valued. Their work often goes beyond the classroom, and we are fortunate to have such passionate staff at our school.
Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who continue to generously give their time to support our school community. Whether helping in classrooms, supporting events, attending excursions, or assisting behind the scenes, your contribution is greatly appreciated and helps strengthen the positive community spirit we value so highly at South Geelong Primary School.
We have an upcoming Parent Helpers Program information session on Tuesday the 26th of May at 9am in our school gym. We encourage any parents, grandparents and school community members who would like to support our classrooms to come along.

School Website
We are currently in the process of finalising our new school website and are excited to share it with our community soon. We hope the website will support strong communication with families and provide a source of current and relevant information for both current and prospective families.
Along with our website, I encourage all families to continue regularly checking Compass for important information, updates, and upcoming school events.
School Assembly
Please note that we are postponing our school assembly on Friday the 29th of May. Both Mick and I will be at the statewide principal conference, and our school leaders will be on Somers Camp. We will hold our next school assembly on Friday the 5th of June.
School Tours & Enrolments
Throughout Terms 1 and 2, we have been holding school tours and have been delighted to welcome great numbers of prospective families to our school.
We are now accepting Foundation enrolments for 2027. If any current families have a child starting Foundation (Prep) in 2027, please visit the office to collect and complete an enrolment form.
If you know of any families considering joining our school community in 2027, we encourage you to let them know we are now accepting enrolments. Please note that enrolment forms are due by Friday the 31st of July.
