Thanks for a wonderful year!
Dear Berwick Chase Community,
As we reach the final week of the school year, I want to take a moment to extend my sincere thanks to our entire Berwick Chase community. This year has been filled with growth, learning, and countless moments of pride, and it has been a privilege to share it with such a dedicated and supportive group of students, staff, and families.
Our Year Six graduates in particular deserve special recognition. Throughout the year—and especially in this final term—they have demonstrated impressive maturity, leadership, and resilience. Watching them grow into confident, capable young people has been a highlight for all of us. Their readiness for secondary school is unmistakable, and I am certain the skills, habits, and character they have built here at the Chase will continue to position them for success long after they walk out our gates for the final time. They should be incredibly proud of who they have become.
I would also like to acknowledge the remarkable efforts of our Year Six teaching team. Term Four is always intense, but the extra work they have invested this year has been exceptional. From organisation and rehearsals to student support and behind-the-scenes logistics, their commitment has elevated the entire graduation experience. Their hard work does not go unnoticed, and I am deeply grateful for their professionalism and dedication.
In addition, a heartfelt thank you goes out to the broader staff and parent volunteers who contributed to the hundreds of tasks required to deliver a smooth, memorable, and meaningful graduation ceremony. These events only come together through collective goodwill, attention to detail, and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed. Our community spirit was on full display, and it is one of the reasons Berwick Chase remains such a special place.
We continued the celebration with a more relaxed and informal gathering at Gumbuya World yesterday. It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy time together before our graduates head off on their next adventure.
To the families who are finishing their journey with us—some after many years and several children—I extend my warmest best wishes. Thank you for your partnership, trust, and contributions throughout your time at the Chase. Please remember that you are always welcome here. We genuinely enjoy hearing about former students’ achievements, and we hope you will drop in from time to time to share your updates.
As we head into the Summer break, I hope everyone finds time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the company of loved ones. With any luck, the weather will turn on some sunshine for us all. Whatever your plans may be, please stay safe and stay connected to the people who bring joy, grounding, and support into your lives.
Thank you once again for your ongoing commitment to our school and for the spirit you bring to our community. I look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year
Warm Regards,
Christ Short
