This week, we proudly acknowledge National Reconciliation Week, a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements—and to explore how we can contribute to reconciliation in Australia.

Across both Banmira campuses, students have participated in a range of meaningful activities that celebrate the rich heritage of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) peoples. From community art projects to traditional games and storytelling, it has been a powerful week of learning and connection.

We are incredibly proud that over 20% of our student population identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and we continue to learn from and celebrate the strength of our ATSI community every day.

We are also in the process of completing the Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS) with students aged 10 and up. This important survey gives us deep insights into how our students feel about their school experience- what’s working well, and where we can do better.

The feedback we gather directly influences our planning and continuous improvement, ensuring that Banmira remains a place where every student feels safe, connected, and supported to learn.

Lastly, we hope all of our families enjoyed reading our Shepparton News Feature: Banmira’s Milestone Moment.

It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our incredible school community and reflect on the journey that brought us to this exciting chapter.

2025 Student Attitudes to School Survey - Information for Families

From Monday 12th May to Friday 6th June 2025, students at Banmira Specialist School who are Grade 4 age and older will be invited to participate in the annual Student Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS).

This survey, coordinated by the Department of Education, gathers valuable feedback about students' experiences with school life, learning, wellbeing, relationships, and more.

Participation is voluntary, and students can skip questions or withdraw from the survey at any time. Survey responses are confidential and help our school plan programs and activities to improve student engagement and wellbeing.

CSEF

Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF): The CSEF is an annual payment paid to the school, to be allocated towards camps, sports and/or excursion expenses for the benefit of the eligible student. If you are the holder of a concession card such as a Pension Card or Health Care Card, you may be eligible for CSEF.

The annual CSEF amount per student is as follows:

Primary school student rate: $154 per year
Secondary School student rate: $256 per year
