Senior Campus News

We are very proud of the Banmira students who took part in the Banagarra Dance performance in Echuca on Friday and Saturday. We received wonderful feedback from staff and students, highlighting this as a fantastic opportunity for students to develop connections and build self-confidence. Well done to all the Banmira students who participated — we are all very proud of you!

National Simultaneous Storytime 2025 was a great success! Students thoroughly enjoyed The Truck Cat, coming together as a whole school to listen outdoors and soak up the beautiful weather. It was great to see students so engaged and enthusiastic, participating in a range of activities and truly making the most of the sunshine.

As part of Reconciliation Week, students have been developing their understanding of, and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and contributions. It’s been a meaningful opportunity for reflection, learning, and connection. We had a group of students and teachers collaborate to create the wonderful board that is currently on display in the Administration office.

Check out the wonderful photos and further information below!

Bangarra Dance

Last week some of our Indigenous students were invited to participate in the Bangarra Dance Program. They were lucky enough to be trained by some incredible dancers, work with students from other schools, and some even had the opportunity to perform at Ripple Fest- Bangarra Rekindling on Saturday in Echuca. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, persistence and dedication our students put into their program last week. What a fantastic reward to be able to perform in front of more than 90 people. A massive thankyou to Sarah K for organising and the other staff who supported our students throughout this program.

National Simultaneous Story Time

On Wednesday the 21st of May Senior Campus students all met together for National Simultaneous Storytime. We celebrated by listening to the story as a Senior Campus outside on the lawn. Following this, students participated in a range of activities associated with the story to immerse themselves in the wonderful messages that shone through in the book around friendship, identity and feeling at ‘home’ wherever that may be.

Please see some of our students’ favourite things from the day.

‘I enjoyed the activities and my favourite was the big painting’- Jay P

‘My favourite thing was listening to the story in a picnic’- Liv O

‘The cats name was Tinka. My favourite character was the man and the cat’- Hunter G

‘My favourite thing was being altogether with everyone’- Coby C

Cross Country

On Tuesday the 20th May, some of our Senior School students participated in the Goulburn Murray Division Cross Country at Princess Park in Shepparton. The event involved the students running a 3km course with students from the other Shepparton schools. All three of our students finished 1st in their age group and have progressed to the next stage that will take place later this term. Well done to all of our fantastic students!
