Chess Team Celebrations

As Term 2 is in full swing, interschool chess tournaments have resumed at full pace. For any CGPS chess enthusiasts, here are two upcoming tournaments: 

— 17th June at Viewbank Primary 

— 29th July at Alphington Grammar

We’re also thrilled to share some exciting news: Carlton Gardens Chess team, represented by Dada (6D), Nabil (5C), Ryan(3A), Aelia (2C), Eesha (4A), Kaisar (4B) and Aidan (2B) has competed in the qualifying interschool tournament last week and finished in the top 3 among 15 schools and progressed into the semifinals! There were 110 participants and it was one of the most competitive and biggest qualifiers to date! Well done everyone! Additionally, Kaisar (4B) and Aidan Batyrbekov (2B) have achieved equal 1st and equal 2nd place respectively across Victoria in the Junior Rapid Championship! Congratulations and keep up the great work! 

For anyone wishing to participate in the interschool tournaments, you can still qualify at the tournaments above, and join the team for the semifinals!
