Welcome Back to Term 2

It was lovely to welcome new students and their families to our Leighland community at the beginning of Term 2.  It has been wonderful to see our campus come alive again after the break, filled with familiar and new faces, renewed energy and a shared sense of anticipation for the term ahead. As always, we step into this term trusting in God’s guidance and giving thanks for His ongoing provision over our school community.

A special highlight early in the term was Mother’s Day. This was a precious time to honour and celebrate the mothers, grandmothers and mother-figures who pour so much love, care and prayer into the lives of our children. Mothers, grandmothers and special friends gathered in our School Library for afternoon tea before joining our Primary staff and students in the MP Hall for our special Primary Assembly. We thank God for our Mothers' faithfulness, sacrifice and encouragement, and we pray that each is blessed and appreciated, not only on Mother’s Day, but every day.

This week, we are excited to celebrate National Careers Week  where we will welcome students and staff from Devonport Christian School and Geneva Christian College as they join our Year 9 and 10 students for our Job Skills Expo. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore their God-given gifts and talents, to try hands-on skills, and to begin thinking about how they might use their abilities to serve others in the future. We encourage our students to approach these experiences with curiosity, courage and an open heart, remembering that God has a unique plan and purpose for each of them.

As we move through Term 2 together, may we continue to grow in learning, character and faith. Thank you for your ongoing partnership, prayers and support. We look forward to all that God has in store for us this term.
