Principal's Report

Dear Students and Families,
As Term 2 draws to a close at the end of Week 11, I am delighted to reflect on another busy and rewarding period for our school community.
This term, our Years 3–6 students showcased outstanding effort and spirit in the Fit Futures athletics program. It has been wonderful to witness their enthusiasm, teamwork, and achievement across various events in preparation for their Athletics Carnival in Week 1 Term 3.
We also celebrated students’ engagement in a range of extra-curricular activities including chess, public speaking, the spelling bee, and debating. These programs continue to foster critical thinking, confidence and communication skills.
A highlight for our Year 5 and 6 students is the camp to Canberra, which left this morning. They will return on Wednesday evening. This excursion provides unique opportunities to explore history, government and science, and create lasting memories with classmates. The alternate excursion is being held on Tuesday 23 June to Fairfield City Council Chambers and Fairfield Adventure Park.
Thank you to the families who have participated in the NSW Public Schools Survey. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us build a positive and supportive learning environment. The link was sent to families through School Bytes last week. It's not too late to do the survey, which will remain open up until the last day of this term - 3 July.
Semester 1 progress reports will be sent home on Thursday 25 June, giving insights into each student’s academic progress and social development. On Thursday 2 July, we will be holding meetings between teachers, students and parents/carers to discuss individual achievements and set goals for the remainder of the year. These conversations are essential for fostering strong partnerships and supporting every student’s growth. Please make a booking with your child's teacher.
As we head into the winter break, I would like to thank our dedicated staff for their professionalism and care, and families for your ongoing support. Please enjoy a safe and restful holiday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in Term 3, refreshed and ready for new opportunities.
Warm regards,
Dianne Donatiello
Principal, St Johns Park Public School
