Ekiden Relay

On Thursday 19 October, a large group of Aberfoyle Park High School students attended the Ekiden Relay at Bonython Park. 

We were proudly represented in the Open Boys, Junior Boys and Open Girls divisions with each team comprising of eight students, running between 1km and 5.4km.

In the Statewide event, the Open Boys finished in eight place, Open Girls completed the journey in sixth place and after a gutsy run by Zak in the 5.4km leg the junior boys finished in tenth place. 

All runners gave their best in hot conditions, and the team spirit was on display, as runners ran alongside their peers to encourage them after finishing themselves. Special mention needs to also go to Jethro who completed the fastest 4th 2.8km leg in the junior boys with a time of 10.08mins.

Year 7-10 Badminton 

On Wednesday 25 October several students travelled to Cedar College to compete in the Year 7-10 Badminton competition.

Aberfoyle Park had some good results. In the division 1 Girls Carol, Leah, Chrisa, Isobel and Becky finished victors against some strong competition, not dropping a game all day. Naoki, Ben, Abinav and Toby were a creditable 2nd in Division 1 boys, losing only one match throughout the entire competition. Tenzin, Harry, Daniel and Jayden finished in second place in the Division 2 division whilst Cooper, Darcy, George and Ari showed great improvement as the day progressed to finish 6th in the same division.

These good results were the direct result of all these students training tirelessly throughout semester 3 and 4 up to two times per week.
