VCE Outdoor Enviromental Studies

Our VCE Outdoor and Environmental Studies students recently stepped out of the classroom and into the field, taking part in National Tree Day through two collaborative tree planting events with Landcare and BCS.
Students planted native trees and shrubs to help restore local habitat along the rail trail and then at BCS. Participating in National Tree Day allowed students to experience firsthand how community groups and volunteers work together to protect and enhance natural environments. The experience provided students with the opportunity to put their classroom learning into practice while making a meaningful contribution to the community.
The day highlighted the important role organisations such as Landcare play in restoring native vegetation, improving wildlife habitat and encouraging community stewardship of the environment. Students gained valuable insights into revegetation techniques, the benefits of planting indigenous species and the positive impact that local environmental action can have.
