Netball Grand Final Wrap-Up

The 2026 netball season concluded on 19 September, with five John XXIII College teams earning the opportunity to compete on Grand Final day. Having five teams reach the final stage of the competition is a wonderful achievement and reflects the commitment, hard work and passion shown by our players throughout the season.

We are especially proud to celebrate our two premiership-winning teams, Year 7 Jade and Year 9 Quartz, who both delivered outstanding performances when it mattered most.

🏆 Year 7 Jade - Premiers

Year 7 Jade capped off a fantastic season with a dominant Grand Final performance. The team played with confidence, composure and teamwork, building momentum throughout the match to secure a convincing 15-goal victory. Their willingness to work for one another, apply the skills they had developed throughout the season and maintain a positive attitude made them deserved premiers. For many players, this was their first season of College netball, making the achievement even more special. Well done to Year 7 Jade coach, Vonn Gillett.

🏆 Year 9 Quartz - Premiers

Year 9 Quartz produced one of the day's most exciting matches, holding their nerve in a thrilling contest to claim a hard-fought 3-goal win. The game was closely fought from start to finish, with both teams displaying great determination and skill. The girls showed exceptional resilience under pressure, remaining calm in the final stages and trusting in their structures and teamwork to come away with the premiership. Their ability to stay composed in such a competitive Grand Final was a testament to their growth and dedication throughout the season. Well done to WANL Coach Trinity Rond.

Our Runner-up Grand Final teams also represented the College with tremendous pride!

🥈 Year 10 Amethyst - Runners-Up (lost by 7 goals)

🥈 Year 10 Silver - Runners-Up (lost by 7 goals)

🥈 Years 11/12 Crystal - Runners-Up (lost by 3 goals, a very close game)

While the results did not fall our way, all three teams competed with determination, resilience and sportsmanship. Reaching a Grand Final is a significant achievement, and each team should be incredibly proud of their season.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our coaches, managers, umpires and families for their ongoing support throughout the year. The success of the John XXIII College Netball Club would not be possible without the time, energy and commitment of our wider community.

Congratulations to all players on a wonderful 2026 season. Finishing with two premierships and three runner-up teams is an outstanding result and a fitting reward for the effort everyone involved put in. We look forward to another exciting season in 2027.
