From the Principal

During the week, our Year 12 student leaders rallied to raise money to support Jesuit Mission’s important work. Thanks are extended to all in our community who contributed so generously to such a worthy cause, with over $10,000 being raised. Particular thanks are extended to the staff and students who braved the icy water of the plunge. The costumes were a lot of fun too.

As previously communicated earlier in the year, Mrs Shani Andrews leaves us at the end of Term 3 after three and a half years of dedicated service. The College acknowledges the significant contribution Mrs Andrews has made during her time with us, demonstrating her deep commitment to the College’s mission and values.

More specifically, Mrs Andrews has demonstrated a particularly strong understanding of student wellbeing and strategies to support and promote it, successfully leading strategic projects including the Wellbeing Framework, Positive Behaviour Framework and Positive Peer Relations Framework, for which we are very grateful. We wish Mrs Andrews well as she takes on new adventures at Salvado Catholic College, and we thank her for the significant contribution she has made to our College.

By way of update, I can confirm that during Term 4, Head of Secondary responsibilities will be assumed predominantly by Mr Liam Smith, Head of Senior Years (Years 10 to 12) and Mrs Donna Kolka, Head of Middle Years (Years 7 to 9) with the support of the College Executive. The recruitment process for a new Vice Principal continues, with the College well-placed to continue in its mission until a suitable appointment is made.

Finally, I hope you are all afforded the opportunity to spend some precious time with family and friends over the holiday break, and I look forward to our students’ return on Tuesday, 13 October.
