Term 4 Week 4
Congratulations to our October Reader of the Month recipients! A big round of applause to Lucas, Scarlett and Gracie for their wonderful enthusiasm and love of books.
Each of these young readers has shown great curiosity, focus, and joy during library time. We are so proud of their growing confidence and imagination - keep turning those pages and discovering new adventures!

Get excited - our Scholastic Book Fair is happening on Thursday 6th November during Community Night!
Our Tirkandi Library has transformed into a magical bookstore packed with awesome books, cool stationery, and fun finds for everyone in the family.
Love adventures? Crazy about mysteries? Dreaming of new stories to dive into? You’ll find all that and more! Plus, every purchase helps our school library grow.
Bring your family, grab a friend, and join us for an evening full of stories, smiles, and the joy of reading!
Here's how borrowing works in the library:
Reception - Can borrow 4 books
Years 1, 2, 3, 4 - Can borrow 8 books
Years 5 and 6 - Can borrow 10 books
Parents/Caregivers - Can borrow 10 books
Please remember to bring your library bag (Reception and Year 1/2), and return any overdue books to start borrowing again. Books can be kept for up to 2 weeks. If you’ve forgotten to return a book, don’t worry – just drop it in the returns box when you get the chance!
Students can return books by placing them in their classroom library box or directly into the green returns box in Tirkandi. Please note that only staff members are allowed to return books and use the returns computer. If a book is returned damaged, please place it in the Book Doctor box for repairs.
Library computer borrowing is available only for students in Years 3 to 6. The borrowing period runs from 8:40am to 8:50am every morning. Computers can be borrowed by those who have either damaged their own computers or forgotten to bring them to school.
Please remember that all borrowed computers must be returned to the library by the end of the day. If a student forgets to return their computer three times, they will be unable to borrow for three days. Should this happen again, the borrowing restriction period will be extended.
The school library policy regarding overdue, lost, or damaged books is as follows:
If a library book lost or returned damaged, a fee of $15 will be charged. If the book is found you will be reimbursed the full amount.
Please note that students will not be able to borrow any additional books until the overdue book is returned or the payment is made. The fees collected are used to replace the lost or damaged book.
Our library is now open Monday to Friday for families to come in, borrow books, or enjoy some quiet reading time:
Monday to Friday:
Before school: 8:30–8:50am
After school: 3:10–3:30pm

Happy reading!
