Principal's Report

Dear Parents/Guardians and Friends of Nazareth

Welcome to Term 4.  It has been a great start to the term and we are well and truly back into it.  As we commence the term, we are mindful especially of our Year 12 students as they are days away from the end of their journey at Nazareth and those completing exams will be commencing exams in under two weeks.

Last week we had a Cultural Day, where many students wore their traditional clothing and participated in a wide range of cultural activities.  In our Community, we have over 50 different cultures within the College, which makes it fitting to celebrate this cultural richness.

Today our Community gathered to say farewell to the class of 2025 with our farewell assembly.  It was indeed a joy to celebrate the great achievements of our 126 Year 12 students.  Our 2025 College Captains gave their final address and the 2026 College Captains were introduced to the College and inducted as our new leaders.  Jordan Tissera, Abbie Diaz, Victoria Tsolakis and Gabriella Kakerissa have been exceptional in their leadership of our College Community and it was wonderful to hear their reflections on the year.  We thank them for their outstanding contribution to Nazareth College.  They presented a gift to our staff as a token of their gratitude for all their support, which Ms Michelle Nogueira accepted on behalf of all the staff.

We wish Danny Farr, Ananya Ghose, Alicia Rasool and Vishwanathan (Vishy) Sreekanth, our 2026 College Captains, all the best and are confident they will continue on the great leadership of the College.  They have given speeches to their cohort, recorded a speech for all staff, been interviewed by College staff and expressed to us what they can give back to our Community. They are most worthy of this position and we wish them all the best.

In the coming weeks, we have the Year 12 Graduation Mass and dinner and the 2026 Year 7 Information Night.  We are very busy, not just with the important events remaining this year, but also planning for next year.  We have the 40th Anniversary Reunion and Gala Spectacular on Saturday 25 October, where past students and staff will gather to look at our great facilities in the afternoon and in the evening will be entertained by past students and staff in the Wheeler Auditorium.  All members of our Community are most welcome to attend (please click on the link for more details).  https://qrco.de/40yearsofnaz

During these events and celebrations, we are mindful of what a great Community we have and how blessed we are to be a part of this Community.  We give thanks to God for the gift of Nazareth and ask Him to continue to abundantly bless our Community and especially our Year 12 students as they prepare not just for exams, but for the next chapter in their journey.  We pray that Jesus the Nazarene will be with them and that they may be open to His love in all they do.
