On Tuesday 19th March the Foundation students were visited by Lynette and her beautiful dog Jackie. The Responsible Pets incursion aimed to teach students how to safely pat and interact with dogs in a range of different scenarios. Students learnt how to approach dogs safely and what to do if a dog seemed distressed or angry.

A few students from each class were chosen to interact with Jackie (the dog), practising the new skills they had learnt. Students had to first ask Lynette if they could pat Jackie, approach slowly to allow Jackie to sniff their hand and pat gently along her back. The students loved the experience, and we can’t wait to see Lynette and her dog Jackie next year!
