House Updates

Apollo

We’re halfway through the term and it’s been a fantastic and extremely busy few weeks. Apart from all the SACs and exam prep, we have definitely come together as a house to support each other and be the friendliest to each other. Here’s some stuff happening later on as we near the end of Term 3.

The house competition is coming to an end with the final events happening this term including house chess, house debating (stay tuned for that!) and house drama! In week 7, we have our annual house drama competition with our scripted and devised teams putting in a lot of effort to put together amazing performances!

In week 3, we had an amazing team of senior and junior students participating in house chess and with a lot of skill, we placed first place!!! Thank you so much to Adi, Oscar, Rishit, Sahas, Shineyu, Reshad, Zakwaan, Atul and Yogesh for your dedication and participation in house chess!

As the term comes to an end we’re reaching the final stretch! Good luck to everyone for any upcoming tests, sacs and exams!!

Your Initiatives Captain, Salma (A6)

Adding on,

We still have House Sport running this term, come Monday (if junior) or Thursday (if senior) lunchtime to play netball!! So far Apollo seniors are on a roll and I reckon we might even win House Sport as a whole, so what are you sitting at lunchtime for? Help Apollo win! We also had HAPE during W3 of this term and I am proud of all who participated and tried their best for Table Tennis Tournament, the Beep Test, the Basketball Shootout and the Carrot-Eating Competition!

Your Sports Captain, Merrita Kolattukudy (A5)

Blackwood

A huge thank you to all the amazing students who participated in the recent House Chess competition! We had strong numbers in both the junior and senior teams, with players turning up across multiple days to take on some very tough rounds. After a series of close matches, Blackwood was able to secure second place overall.

It was fantastic to see such commitment and enthusiasm from our players, and the effort everyone put in truly paid off. Congratulations to everyone who played and represented the house so well!

Gurleen Jhajj, Initiatives Captain

We’re already halfway through Term 3 and things are heating up as we move closer to one of the biggest events of the year, House Drama!  Everyone has been working incredibly hard to bring their ideas to life, and we can’t wait to see the final performances hit the stage. The effort, creativity, and teamwork from all of you really shows the Blackwood spirit.

This term also comes with a bittersweet note as we say goodbye to our amazing Drama Captain for a while, Phineas. Your leadership, passion, and dedication have shaped Blackwood’s House Drama into something special, and we’re so grateful for everything you’ve done. And to the rest of the team!

Finally, with SACs and exams coming up, we want to wish all our Blackwood legends the best of luck. Stay focused, take care of yourselves, and remember you’ve got a whole house behind you cheering you on!

Let’s finish Term 3 strong and show everyone why Blackwood is truly unstoppable!

With pride,

Your Blackwood House Leadership Team

Kororoit

It's kind of hard to believe that we’re already halfway through Term 3!

Earlier this term, Kororoit once more embarked on its annual tradition of the SPICY RAMEN CHALLENGE! A valiant representative from each homegroup courageously rose to the occasion, yet, only one could claim victory. For the 2025 edition, we would like to congratulate Jailan Yeung for handling the heat without a sweat, winning the Spicy Ramen Challenge!

A HUGE thank you to Xiaoan He, Rafael Agdigos, Raymon Wang, Micah Lim, Steven Nguyen, Aditya Krishan, Angelo Benjamin, and Neil Manoj for all participating in the House Chess Competition. While we may not have won, all your efforts still contributed valuable points towards winning the House Cup.

Finally, to the Year 12s, good luck with your final SACs and exam prep. While we’re all counting down to the end of the year, make sure you treasure these last few weeks with all your friends in one place.

With Senior House Debating and House Drama on the horizon, it’s important that we all keep up the good work, keep our Kororoit spirit high, and give it our all in these last few weeks to try to secure that cup once again!

Humble in spirit, champions by nature,

Audrey & Sahnan 🐉❤️‍🔥

Rothwell

We are now truly stuck in the thick of term 3 and it has been nothing but hectic. It really seems like the weeks keep flying by as we begin to enter the homestretch of the year. With exams just around the corner, let's take a moment to reflect on what has happened so far.

To start off , a huge congratulations to our House Chess team:

Akhil Gunturu

Hansika Chenna

Arasu Anbarasan

Daniel Vu

Kevin Sun

Simran Singh

Noora Mohammed Faizal

Chengtao Fu

Selinna Rajarajan

Who placed us second on the leaderboard and has put in so much intellect and brainpower into their games. For what it is, we’ll take those small wins. In a similar vein,  here’s an inspiring chess quote that I would like to leave you with,

“Life is like a game of chess, its not about the pieces, its about how you move them.“

Much like being in a chess match, the house competition is not over, and third place is still in our arm’s reach. If we continue to strategically and silently move our pieces,  we’ll have our moment to shine when we say ‘checkmate’. A well-placed pawn can be more powerful than a king.

On a broader canvas, watch out for the other house events that can help us move our pawns more effectively. House drama, House debating, and Senior and Intermediate level lunchtime Sports are all upcoming and ongoing events to get excited about. So, if you haven’t participated in much or are looking for more, please feel free to participate to your heart’s content.

Overall, we, as the Rothwell leadership, are so, so proud of everyone’s combined efforts. To finish, here’s just a reminder to keep up the great work! You only live once, so let’s make the most of the remainder of the year.

 GO ROTHWELL!!
