Welcome and Welcome Back. As we begin 2024 together at Wyndham College, I would like to welcome all new parents and carers of Year 11, and of course welcome back our parents and carers of Year 12 students.

I am pleased to be able to report that, 2024 has commenced well, with Year 12 settling quickly back into their HSC coursework and preparing for upcoming assessments. Year 11 students successfully oriented into the College with two Strong Start days and a week of classes.

2023 was a very productive year for our students and staff. We have been able to celebrate many successful outcomes. Significant progress was made by students in Year 11 (now Year 12) and some outstanding successes were the result of their hard work. These successes included academic, sporting, leadership and wellbeing.

Our HSC results for 2023 showed that our students are capable of great things. We are extremely proud of all our students who completed the HSC in 2023, with a special congratulations to Vansh Kalra who is the Wyndham College DUX for 2023, with an ATAR of 95.  Congratulations also go to the eleven students included in the Distinguished Achievers list

The 2023 HSC also saw a significant increase in results across all courses.  Whilst the academic results are not the only achievement we aim for, they are certainly important to us as a College and also, of course, to the individual students.

HSC Major Works

Some HSC courses involve both a major project/performance, as well as the written HSC Examination. The top HSC Major Projects and Performances are showcased by NESA each year. In the 2023 HSC, we have had two students’ work selected for inclusion in these showcases.

ARTEXPRESS is the showcase of HSC Visual Arts Bodies of Work. Isabella Warland achieved acceptance into ARTEXPRESS. Her work, Cerebellum, is being exhibited at the Art Gallery of NSW.

SHAPE is the showcase of HSC major works for Industrial Technology, Design & Technology, Textiles & Design. Lachlan Goodwin was successful in being selected to be showcased in SHAPE for his Industrial Technology major project.

Congratulations to both Isabella and Lachlan!

This year our Celebration Assembly will be held on 27 February 2024. Here we recognise the achievements of the class of 2023. Many thanks to Anjani Bachu, Lis Viney and Julie Gough for organising this event.

Road Safety Within the Nirimba Education Precinct

The Nirimba Education Precinct is an area with high level of pedestrian usage plus speed limits and regular road rules are enforceable. To keep our community safe please be considerate when driving on the roads and car parks.

I am excited about the year ahead and focused on supporting our students and staff to achieve amazing things in 2024.
