Loving God,
We thank You for the life and example of Pope St Pius X,
a humble servant who sought to restore all things in Christ.
May his dedication to faith, learning, and compassion
inspire our school community today.
Help us to live with kindness, courage, and a desire to serve others.
Bless our students, staff, and families, and guide us always in Your love.
St Pius X, pray for us.
Amen.
Feast Day of St Pius X
Friday 21 August is the Feast Day of St Pius X - our College was named after this remarkable man almost 20 years after opening as Christian Brothers College, Chatswood.
Pope St Pius X was born Giuseppe (Joseph) Sarto in 1835 and became Pope in 1903, choosing the motto 'To restore all things in Christ.' Throughout his papacy, he worked to bring people closer to God in simple, practical ways. He encouraged more frequent reception of Holy Communion and lowered the age for First Communion, recognising the deep faith present in children. St Pius X also renewed the Church’s liturgy, strengthened religious education, and lived with great compassion for the poor. His example continues to inspire Catholic communities to live with humility, service, and a Christ‑centred heart.
His legacy continues to inspire Catholic schools around the world, including ours, to place Christ at the centre of learning, service, and community life.
Parish in Council
Last weekend our Parish hosted the 10th Parish in Council. This was a wonderful Parish community that was well supported by our students. Thank you to the 15 students who set up Harrington Hall on Thursday afternoon, and to our Hospitality Team who served 150 people lunch.
Being people of service for others reflects our Edmund Rice values and we thank the students for their commitment and time.
Year 12 Retreats
This week all of Year 12 have spent three days away on Retreat. This is a wonderful time to allow the students to take time away from study and home commitments to spend time in reflection and prayer whilst enjoying time with friends.
Experiences such as these require huge staff commitment and I thank all staff who spent time away from their own families to allow the students to have such a warm and positive experience as their school journey comes to an end.
