Brain Olympia

Early Tuesday morning our school team of Keira, Isaac, Daniel, Eylah, Edmund, Isaac, Matthew and Hunter ventured off to Inverell to compete in the regional rounds of the Brain Olympia Competition. We competed against teams from Holy Trinity Inverell, St Mary of the Angels Guyra and St Joseph's Glen Innes.

The Brain Olympia is an initiative that began in our Diocese in the late 1990s and provides an opportunity for students to participate in a range of academic competitions. 

This year involved;

• General Knowledge Quiz (loosely based around English, HSIE, Science, Famous People/Places and Current Affairs)
• Public Speaking
• Problem Solving (Mathematics)
• Drama (Whole team participation)

Lunchtime was a chance to switch our brains off and recharge. We were also lucky enough to be invited by some of the Holy Trinity students to join them in a game of 'Electric Piggy.' 

Our students tried their absolute best and worked together as a team all day and finished up coming second in the small schools category.
