As we dive into the mid point of another busy and rewarding term, our school community has plenty to celebrate! From celebrating our love of literature to flexing our cognitive muscles, there is so much happening across the school.
Brain Olympiad: Unleashing Our Inner Geniuses
Our students have been putting their critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork to the ultimate test during the Brain Olympiad! It has been incredible to watch curiosity and determination in action as participants tackle complex challenges, puzzles, and strategic tasks.
Get Ready to Turn the Page: Book Week is here!
Dust off your costumes and tune up your imaginations. This year’s theme, "Symphony of Stories," celebrates how every book, character, and reader plays a unique note in the grand melody of literature.
Reading opens doors to new worlds, builds empathy, and fuels creativity.
Book Week is our favorite way to bring all those different instruments together, celebrating the pure joy of reading across our entire school community.
What to Look Forward To
Our Parade to Warialda Square: Students (and staff and families) are invited to dress up as their favourite book character or take inspiration from musical and rhythmic stories. We will depart school parading our costumes through the streets of Warialda ending with a picnic lunch and good tunes!
Classroom Story Time: Special guest readers, interactive storytelling sessions, and literary activities exploring how stories create harmony in our world.
How Families Can Get Involved
You don’t need an elaborate or expensive costume to strike the right chord! Simple, homemade outfits made from everyday clothes or costume ideas inspired by books about music, sound, and harmony are fantastic! Talk with your child about their favorite books and be sure to share yours too!
Celebrating Excellence:
Weeks 4 & 5 Joey Award
A massive congratulations to Eylah for Week 4 and Keira for Week 5!
The Joey Awards recognise students who consistently demonstrate our core values:

- I am Valued, Respected and Cared For
- I am a Learner
Throughout the term, staff catch students “doing the right thing” and enter them into our Joey Award recognition pool.
In addition to regular milestone draws each week, we track this positive data to host a special end-of-term celebration, honouring students who have consistently lived out our school values.
Diocesan Annual Satisfaction Survey
An annual satisfaction survey of parents, students and staff will be conducted on behalf of all Catholic schools in the Diocese this term. The surveys are designed to gather feedback from parents, staff and students about our school and will be used to inform school improvement. Responses are confidential, and individuals can not be identified. The surveys will be launched via email on Monday, 24 August 2026 using the email addresses supplied to the school. If you do not receive an email with a link to the survey, you can access and complete the survey via the following link. https://www.research.net/r/StJosephsWarialdaPARENT2026 The survey will close on Wednesday, 2 September 2026.
Uniforms
We will start Transitioning to our Summer Uniform on Monday 7 September 2026.
Please check uniforms and come to our school office if you need to purchase larger sizes.
We have a small handful of second hand uniforms still in good condition.
School Hats: Students are required to wear their school hat during all outdoor activities and break times.
Please check that your child's hat is clearly labeled with their name.
2027 Enrolments
As we start to plan for the 2027 school year we invite all families with students planning to commence school in 2027 to please complete the new online enrolment form.
