Rugby Academy Hits the Ground Running in 2026
The Lara Secondary College Rugby Academy is up and running, with students returning to training with plenty of enthusiasm for what shapes as a huge 2026.
We are excited to welcome over 20 new enrolments to the College and into the Academy program. It has been fantastic to see so many new faces already embracing the college values of excellence, teamwork, respect, and commitment that are the base of everything we do.
We are also thrilled to introduce Emma Brown, who joins us as our new female team coach. Emma brings great depth of knowledge, passion, and leadership, and she has already made a strong impression on the group. Her involvement further strengthens our coaching team and the opportunities available to our athletes.
With pre-season underway, Coach Ephraim and the staff have the squad motivated and determined to keep raising the bar. A major highlight of the year – the Rugby Tour to France in September. Our players are eager to test themselves against top level opposition and represent Lara Secondary College with pride on the international stage.

Swimming Sports Carnival
Lara Secondary College’s Swimming Carnival on Friday, 6 February was a fantastic celebration of school spirit, sunshine and friendly competition, made even better by a perfect 26-degree day.
Students threw themselves into events with enthusiasm, with the ever-popular house water polo drawing huge crowds and impressive participation. The teacher vs student relay delivered plenty of excitement too, with the teachers putting on a clinical performance to redeem themselves after last year’s shock defeat. Between races, students enjoyed cooling off in the splash park, adding to the fun and relaxed atmosphere.
The day wrapped up in true carnival style, with Serendip House claiming overall victory and You Yangs finishing close behind in second place.
