Term 1 continues to move at speed, with swimming lessons and subsequent district competitions now completed for students in Years 3 to 6. Our students in Years 3 and 5 continue to prepare for the upcoming NAPLAN testing period, whilst our Prep students will begin attending school for a full week beginning next week. Our Year 6 students look splendid in their graduation wear; with Year 6 polos and hoodies being delivered to the school in the last week. Our assemblies have returned and are running smoothly and I am pleased to see homework routines in place from the early period of the year.

Thank you to all who attended our annual welcome picnic last night. It was great to see such a great turnout, with the ‘bring your own’ element working well in our limited space. As always, thank you to Melinda Reid, our Parents’ Association President, and Stephanie Sim, who leads school engagement from our staff team, for organising this event.

Your contributions to our school are highly valued. We hope to see many of you return on the evening of Wednesday 4th March at 7:30pm for our Parents’ Association Annual General Meeting. This evening is a great opportunity to meet families across our school, as well as for us to align our annual events with ‘event leads’. The wonderful events that we know and love cannot run without a broad group of volunteers to lead them and I encourage you to reach out to friends if you are interested and volunteer as a team to run an event. We run similar events year on year that are established and as such much of the thinking behind them has been completed for you. I look forward to seeing many of you on the night!

Our building project continues to move quickly, and I thank students, staff and families for working around the restricted spaces. The former Prep portable classrooms will be demolished imminently, thus completing the demolition works. The ground will then be cut to size for the foundation to be laid, and then building can begin.

I would like to congratulate our new and returning school councillors on their nomination to our group for 2026. We are pleased to welcome back Jackie Dzienciol and Adam Shnider for second terms on the council, and they will be joined by Natasha Tepic and Hema Desai. There is exciting work ahead for our school and I look forward to another year of productivity and positivity from our council!

An initiative that our previous council was engaged with was the proposed pedestrian crossing and speed cushions work at the intersection of Marara Road and Narrawong Road. These works have been recently confirmed and communicated to residents, with works expected to commence on Tuesday 10th March and concluding by Friday 3rd April, weather permitting. Please take note of this and adjust your route planning accordingly across this period.

Thanks for your ongoing support and keep doing your best.
