Hello Monty Families! 

As we head toward the end of summer, our garden is bursting with goodness! We’ve been busy harvesting fresh tomatoes, onions, corn, tromboncinos, basil, and beautiful freshly cut flowers. There’s nothing better than enjoying the fruits (and veggies!) of our labour!

We’ve also been revisiting all the important things about being in the garden — our garden rules, safety practices, and even how to compost properly in our classrooms. Our young gardeners are becoming true garden pros!

This week, the Grade 3s sat their Wheelbarrow Licence Test, and I’m so proud to share that every single student passed with flying colours! The test was quite rigorous and included loading and unloading, navigating a slalom course, safely parking a wheelbarrow, and demonstrating how to walk safely with tools. The testing wrapped up with a special licensing ceremony where all participants were celebrated for their fantastic efforts.
