PFA News – Wrapping Up Term 3!
What a wonderful and busy Term 3 it has been for our St Leonard’s PFA!
As we share our final update for the term, we would like to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you to our wonderful parent and school community for the incredible support you have shown the PFA throughout the term.
From supporting our fundraisers and special lunches, to attending our social events, volunteering your time and helping make our activities possible – every contribution, big or small, has helped make this term such a success.
Most importantly, it has been wonderful to see our school community coming together and creating special experiences and memories for our children. We simply couldn’t do what we do without the support of our families, volunteers, staff and, of course, our amazing PFA committee.
We still have some news from this week to share before we officially wrap up Term 3…
Last Friday, the PFA hosted our much-anticipated School Disco, and what a fantastic night it was! It was wonderful to see the children dancing, laughing and having so much fun with their friends. We hope your child/children enjoyed the night and came home with lots of happy memories!
A huge thank you to all of the parent volunteers who generously gave their time to help make the night possible. Special thanks also to Alyce and Angela for supporting our parent volunteers throughout the evening.
And of course, a very special thank you to Stephanie Lombardi, who organised the event and put so much time and effort into making the disco such a fun and successful night for our children.
🏉 Footy Day Sausage Sizzle
Yesterday we held our famous Footy Day Sausage Sizzle Lunch! Despite battling a cold Melbourne day, there was plenty of school spirit around as the children proudly wore their footy colours and enjoyed a delicious sausage sizzle with their friends. 🌭🏉
A massive thank you to Melanie Harper for organising this much-loved event and to Justin Harper for cooking all of the delicious sausages!
We would also like to thank our wonderful helpers Geraldine, Sia, Helen, Setareh, Lina and Zereena for giving up their time to help everything run smoothly. Events like these simply wouldn’t be possible without our fantastic volunteers.
💻 New Purchase: Micro:bits
We are also excited to share that, thanks to funds raised by the PFA, we have purchased a class set of micro:bits (valued at $798) for our students to use in their learning. These small programmable computers provide wonderful opportunities for hands-on coding, creativity and problem-solving in the classroom. We look forward to seeing the exciting projects our students create with them!

We are also excited to announce that Zooper Dooper Wednesdays are back! Keep an eye out for these refreshing treats during Term 4. 🍧

With another busy Term 4 ahead, we are once again calling on our wonderful parents and guardians to lend a hand at our upcoming PFA events.
Our events simply wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our volunteers. Whether you can spare an hour, help at one event or assist whenever you are available, every little bit of help makes a difference – and the children love seeing their parents and guardians involved too! 💚💛
We would love to see some new faces joining our regular volunteers in Term 4, so if you haven’t helped out before, please consider giving it a go. It’s also a great way to meet other parents and become more involved in our school community.
Note: A valid Working With Children Check is needed to help at the school.
