YEAR 11
Leading The Way

Head of Year 11
Welcome back! I hope the holidays provided our Year 11 students with an opportunity to rest, recharge, and prepare for the term ahead as we enter the next stage of our 'Marathon in the Making' journey.
As we move into the second half of the year, our Year 11 students continue their preparation for the Year 12 marathon ahead. Term 3 is an important stage of this journey, requiring students to build on the habits, resilience, and consistency they have developed so far.
Whether through their studies, leadership opportunities, VET placements, sporting commitments, or service to others, I encourage our students to continue leading the way and make the most of the opportunities ahead.
I look forward to seeing the continued growth and achievements of our Year 11 cohort throughout Term 3.
A reminder to Year 11 students and families that applications for Year 12 Leadership positions are due to Ms Borzi by Friday of Week 2, Term 3.
Applications must be printed and submitted in person. Students considering a leadership role are encouraged to ensure they allow sufficient time to complete and submit their application before the deadline.

If you ride an e-bike, e-scooter, e-skateboard or e-unicycle, important new Queensland laws came into effect on 1 July 2026.
Key changes include:
✅ New speed limits on footpaths and when passing pedestrians
✅ Increased penalties for unsafe riding
✅ Police powers to seize illegal devices used in public places
✅ Stricter requirements for legal e-bikes and personal mobility devices
✅ Continued focus on helmet use, mobile phone restrictions and drink-riding laws
These changes are designed to improve safety for riders, pedestrians and all road users. Parents and students are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the new rules before the school holidays.
