Girls As Leaders in STEM Update
Our girls have almost completed their Deakin GALS journey and will be celebrating their hard work at a presentation showcase with families and teachers next week.
Please take a look at their posters below. These will also be displayed alongside projects from other local schools at Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre over the school holidays.
5/6 Geography Inquiry – Exploring the Asia-Pacific Region
Throughout Term 2, the 5/6 students have been investigating the geographical diversity of the Asia-Pacific region and its connections to Australia. Students explored a range of countries, including Indonesia, Russia, China and India, developing an understanding of each nation’s climate, demographics, culture and natural environments.
As part of their learning, students created informative slideshow presentations to showcase their research and discoveries. To conclude the unit, students selected their favourite country and designed a creative triorama featuring 3D elements to represent key geographical and cultural features. It has been wonderful to see the creativity, effort and depth of understanding demonstrated throughout this inquiry unit.

In the main hallway our Year 1/2 students are showcasing Butterfly House. Here you’ll find a collection of detailed observational butterfly drawings alongside their colourful paper relief flower sculptures.
Finally our students in Years 4/5 and 5/6 have created striking radial paper relief sculptures which are now displayed in the main hallway and office foyer.
We hope you enjoy celebrating our students' creativity and artistic achievements.
