We will be providing student achievement reports for Semester 1 this year as usual.
The reports will be available via Compass on Thursday 25th June.
The reports will continue to provide important details about student learning attainment, but full descriptive comments will not be included as a result of industrial action taken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union.
We will of course be pleased to discuss with you your child’s progress at our next parent-teacher interviews scheduled in Term 3 or, as always, you can contact your child’s classroom teacher.
A reminder to families that SGPS follows the Department of Education requirements regarding student mobile phone and smart watch use at school. Students who bring a mobile phone or smart watch to school are required to switch these devices off and store them securely at the front office for the duration of the school day, including recess and lunchtime, unless an approved exception has been granted.
We understand that some students may need a device for safety reasons when travelling to and from school. However, during the school day, students should not access or use mobile phones or smart watches. If families need to contact their child during school hours, please contact the school office.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a focused, safe and connected learning environment for all students.
You can find our Mobile Phone – Student Use Policy on our website.

School Council is seeking feedback from families and our school community to help guide future planning and decision making at South Geelong Primary School. We encourage you to complete the following Google Form and share your thoughts.
South Geelong PS - Community Consultation Form
The feedback form will remain open until Monday 23rd June.
Hard copies of the form can be arranged through the front office, and if any families require assistance interpreting or completing the form, please contact the school. Thank you for your support.
During periods of rain, we will move to a wet weather timetable to help keep students safe and comfortable, although we try to avoid this where possible. We will remind students to stay on paved areas and avoid puddles and muddy sections of the yard. At times we may also be required to ask students to stay off our oval space.
To help keep children comfortable throughout the day, we encourage families to pack a spare set of clothes in their child's bag in case they do get wet or muddy during recess or lunchtime.
We also ask that all clothing, particularly jumpers and jackets, is clearly labelled with your child's name, as these items can easily be misplaced at this time of year.
Thank you for your ongoing support and assistance.
A reminder we are now accepting Foundation enrolments for 2027. If any current families have a child starting Foundation (Prep) in 2027, please visit the office to collect and complete an enrolment form.
You can also find enrolment forms on our website - https://www.gsps.vic.edu.au/page/9/Enrolment-Information
If you know of any families considering joining our school community in 2027, we encourage you to let them know we are now accepting enrolments. Please note that enrolment forms are due by Friday the 31st of July.
