Sydney Interschools Snowsports Championships - Perisher

Last week, Pittwater House staff took a group of 30 students to Perisher for the Sydney Interschools Competition, with a further nine students attending and staying with family. Throughout the week, students competed in a range of skiing and snowboarding disciplines, representing the school admirably while supporting and cheering on their teammates.
Special mention must go to Elise (C10), who won both the Snowboard Cross and Giant Slalom (GS) events in her division. Congratulations also to the girls' Snowboard Cross and GS team of Holly (C10), Isabella (C10) and Elise (C10), who finished second overall in the team event. In addition to these outstanding performances, several students achieved personal best results, while others progressed to the State Championships following strong performances throughout the competition.
As always, racing makes up only a small part of the week, with the highlight for many students being the opportunity to spend time away with friends. Students made the most of their time on the slopes, enjoyed lunchtime hot chocolates, and relaxed with friends back at our accommodation after a day of competition.
With a record number of students involved in this year's Snowsports Camp, I would like to thank all students for their positive attitudes and outstanding behaviour throughout the week. I would also like to extend my thanks to Mrs Maloney, Miss Brown, Miss Neader and Mr Heyman for their enthusiasm, support and good humour, which helped make the camp such an enjoyable experience for everyone.
