Assistant Principal's Report

Dear Families,
Welcome back to Term 4. I hope everyone had a restful break and is looking forward to a busy and positive final term.
A big thank you to the parents/carers who so warmly welcomed Michael and me at the Parent Party. It was a wonderful evening and a lovely opportunity to connect with our school community in a different setting.
Whole-school transition process
Over the coming weeks, we will begin our whole-school transition process for 2027. This includes class formation, transition activities and planning to support students as they prepare for their next year level.
Thank you to the parents/carers who responded to Michael’s Compass communication and provided information to support the 2027 class formation process. Where relevant, this information will be considered in line with the criteria outlined in our school’s class formation policy and process.
Class formation is a detailed process that considers a range of factors, including learning needs, wellbeing, friendships, student dynamics and the overall balance of each class. Our focus is always on creating positive and supportive learning environments in which every student can thrive.
Wellbeing programs and supports
We are also reviewing our wellbeing programs and supports for 2027. This work will consider what is currently working well, where there may be gaps and how we can continue to strengthen our whole-school approach to student wellbeing, engagement and belonging.
As part of this review, we will draw on student voice and wellbeing data, including the Attitudes to School Survey and our termly Safe, Valued and Supported survey. These measures help us better understand students’ experiences at school and identify opportunities to further strengthen connection, support and belonging.
Welcome
We are very excited to welcome Kate and Anna to our Integration Aide team.
Kate has been working with us in a relief capacity for some time, and her contribution has been outstanding. She has built strong relationships with students and provided valuable support across the school.
We are also very much looking forward to Anna joining the team and bringing her skills and experience to EPS. We know she will make a wonderful contribution to helping our students learn, grow and thrive.
Child Safe Standards
In line with our commitment to the Child Safe Standards, we have ensured that the process for parent/carer volunteers supporting our Prep to Year 4 swimming program was clear and robust.
Thank you to all parents/carers who completed the online volunteer induction, provided evidence of a current Working with Children Check and acknowledged the expectations and responsibilities of the role.
Parent/carer volunteers work under the direction of school staff, with teachers retaining responsibility for student supervision and duty of care throughout the program.
We greatly appreciate the time and support of our volunteers in helping us provide a safe and positive experience for our students.
Kindest,
Leanne Williams
