Mathematics

Multiplication/Division 

Students multiply and divide two-digit numbers by one-digit numbers, using concrete materials such as base-10 blocks. They will continue to explore the connection between multiplication and division.  

Data Investigation 

A key focus of this topic is in data collection methods, representing and interpreting categorical and discrete data. Students are supported in this skill by using and interpreting pictographs and column graphs.   

Location 

Students will use a variety of maps and three-dimensional models for creating their own maps. 

Probability 

Students will develop an understanding of chance experiments and that events can be classified according to how likely they are to occur. 

Mass and Capacity 

Formal units are introduced, with the focus on developing an understanding of what the units represent, as well as accurate measuring and recording.
