Operation Safety Blanket

Hi, my name is Milan.

I am one of the Mini Vinnies leaders and I'm here to tell you about Operation safety blanket and how it worked.

So people would donate used blankets to us and we’d use them to make a big blanket fort in the performing arts room where all the grade 4s set up activities for the other grades to do and when we set up for the next grades to come we got to do the other year 4s activities.

In total we had 25 blankets.

Now I shall tell you about the activity I did with my group, my group had Philip, Zac, Izaac and me, Milan, and we made a drawing competition where we showed the contestants a picture they had to draw in 2 or 3 minutes and the winner of most of the rounds got a certificate for first place. We also had an artist whose drawings were so good and so much alike to the pictures that we made up a drawing of the day section with the only 2 pictures in that section being hers.

Hello, my name is Tigerlily and I am the president of Mini Vinnie Leaders and I am here to talk about Operation Safety Blanket. So on Friday last week we did a HUGE blanket fort, with activities and prizes. But over all that, we got 25 blankets! Now if you were wondering why we did this, it was because of this: At first, Saint Vincent De Paul Society was looking for people to donate blankets, but they couldn't find anyone. So they asked our school to donate some blankets. So we said yes. So my teacher, the leader of the Year 4s, told us that WE would be doing it, so we did. We started to get blankets from people. My idea was to get people in my neighborhood to donate to me. Overall the number that I got was 6. Now why did they ask if we could donate blankets? This was because during winter some people living on the streets were cold and sometimes FREEZING! That is why we decided to help. But we couldn't just do that, we had to do a fun thing, so, we did our blanket fort. Three of the fun activities I saw was, beanbag toss, drawing class and reading. My activity was mystery box, and you got to win prizes! My group was Theo , Kayasha, and Isaac.

Last Friday we had your Minnie vinnies operation safety blanket, there was:

Outdoor activities

  • Bean bag toss
  • Basketball game
  • skipping
  • ping pong game and a tennis ball game

Indoor activities

  • jenga
  • mystery box
  • reading
  • building blocks
  • drawing competitions

Thank you for donating to our school , now we have 25 blankets in total.

You have just donated to the people that have a home, but can not afford heating so a blanket is like a warm hug. Some do not even have a home so a blanket is also like a warm hug as well but  even more than that.

Hi I am David from the Mini Vinnies. I am here to talk about Operation safety blanket and the blanket fort. First of all we were able to collect 25 blankets.

In my group there was Ethan, Aston, Joey and me.

Joey and Aston left our group but Aston came back. We were the group that did dribbling and the 3v3s in soccer.

In total there were 9 groups and lots of people participated in them. Most importantly I think that everyone had fun.
