Sports Update

ACS Primary Sport Athletics Carnival
On Tuesday, August 12th, 23 of our talented students represented the school at the ACS Primary Sport Athletics Carnival in Tamworth. Their sportsmanship and effort throughout the day were outstanding, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.
A massive thank you goes out to Sarah Smith for her fantastic organisation on the day, ensuring all our students were where they needed to be. We'd also like to extend our gratitude to Casey Chard for assisting Sarah and providing support to our students.
Congratulations to all the students who participated: Jimmy Chard, Rosemary Wright, Peyton McBain, Emily Halloran, Felicity Adams, Charlie Schalk, Charlotte Neville, Brooke Graham, Maggie Doust, Lara Newberry, Alec Newberry, Harry Smith, Ivy Watson, Matilda Schalk, Lacey Poulton, Eva Poschelk, Theodore Clifton, Strauss Dodds, Clayton Cooper, Claire Pietsch, Cotton Gray, and Teal Taylor.
A special congratulations is in order for Charlotte Neville and Ivy Watson, who both achieved an amazing accomplishment by advancing to the Polding Athletics Trials! This next level of competition will be held in Glendale on Friday, September 12th. Charlotte will be competing in the 800m and 1500m, while Ivy will be showcasing her skills in the Long Jump and Discus. We wish them the best of luck as they prepare for the next round!
We are thrilled to announce a remarkable achievement: Charlotte not only qualified for Polding, but she also broke the ACS 11yrs girls 1500m record! The previous record was held by a past St. Joey's student, Aila McBain. What an amazing accomplishment—it's wonderful to see the record stay within the St. Joey's family! Charlotte also received Runner Up age champion for the 11 Years Girls.
Touch Football Gala Day
On Tuesday the 12th August, Stage 2 and 3 students participated in a non-competitive gala day at Wilson Park, Glen Innes. We entered 5 teams and we all had an enjoyable day playing against schools from Emmaville, Ashford and Glen Innes.
Thank you to Mikayla Sheather from Touch NSW and Lisa Macrae from Glen Innes Touch Football for all your organisation and providing this opportunity for our students.
For those who are interested, the local Touch Football competition is starting next term. See the flyer below for details.
Todd Woodbridge Cup - Tennis
On Monday 18th August some of our Primary students will be participating in the Todd Woodbridge Cup - Tennis Tournament in Inverell. We hope these students enjoy this opportunity. Thank you to Mr Withers for organising our students for this event.
