SAPSASA Hills District Athletics Carnival – 2026

On Monday 30th March, 29 students from Years 4–6 represented Uraidla Primary School at the SAPSASA Hills District Athletics Carnival, held at Cornerstone College. Students competed across a variety of track and field events, including sprints (100–200m), middle and long distance (800–1500m), long jump, high jump, discus, and shot put.

This was the largest team we have fielded to date, and every student gave their absolute best effort. For many, it was their first experience at this level of competition. We are proud of their commitment, with students regularly training during their lunch breaks to prepare for the day.

Building on last year’s impressive result of 246 points – a significant improvement from previous years – our efforts this year reached new heights. Uraidla Primary School scored a remarkable 378 points, finishing third overall in the Hills District, and also achieving third place in the adjusted school trophy.

Congratulations to all students on their individual and team efforts. A special mention goes to those who reached the podium or made event finals, and to our age group champions – Hector Chernishev and Ruby Cox.

PS This is Margie adding a footnote here- Troy did an amazing job organising SAPSASA events this term, giving up over 25 of his lunch breaks to support and train students. We can see that this training and practice has really paid off, in our excellent results above. Thank you, Troy! 🏅
